Pooja's critical analysis

Name : Pooja Subramanyam

Student Number: 20222157

Title : India, diversity vision personified.

Synopsis: With multitudes of languages, different cultures, different traditions, and existence of every possible religion, India is a classical example of unity in diversity.

Introduction:

The term culture refers to a state of intellectual development or manners. Indian culture is rich and diverse and as a result unique in its very own way. Our way of communicating with one another, manners etc are one of the important components of our culture. Though we have accepted modern means of living, improved our lifestyle, our values and beliefs still remain unchanged. A person can change his way of clothing, way of eating and living but the rich values in a person always remains unchanged because they are deeply rooted within our hearts, mind, body and soul which we receive from our culture. Indian culture treats guests as god and serves them and takes care of them as if they are a part and parcel of the family itself. Even though we don’t have anything to eat, the guests are never left hungry and are always looked after by the members of the family. Elders and the respect for elders is the most important aspect in Indian culture.

This is my last video blog. I would like to show bollywood and its music and dance. This vlog basically will show the history of bollywood and where it has reached now. The famous actors. Infact, we also have Miss world India and Miss Universe India as the most successful actresses of bollywood.

Bollywood (Hindi) is an informal name given to popular Mumbai-based Hindi language film industry in India. Bollywood is commonly referred to as hindi cinema.

HISTORY:

Raja Harishchandra (1913) was the first feature film made in India. It was made by Dadasaheb phalke. By 1930's the industry was producing over 200 films per annum. In late 1950's Bollywood released its first color films.

Pooja's third text post: Sightseeing in India' Karnataka.

Karnataka is one of the four southern states of India. The state has three principal geographical zones: the coastal region of Karavali, the hilly Malnad region comprising the Western Ghats and the Bayaluseeme region comprising the plains of the plateau. This episode consists of mainly four places, water falls of western ghats, highest point in Karnataka called the Mullayanagiri hills in Chikmagalur district which has an altitude of 1,929 metres (6,329 ft) ,thirdly om beach which is one of the longest and cleanest beach in asia and finally Kemmanagundi.

The Western Ghats (Sahyadri Mountains) are a mountain range in the west of peninsular India. They run north to south along the western edge of the Deccan Plateau, and separate the plateau from a narrow coastal plain along the Arabian Sea. About sixty percent of the Western Ghats are located in the state of Karnataka. In the water falls I will cover three most beautiful falls. Jog falls, magod falls and unchalli falls Jog Falls is the highest untie red waterfall in India, located in Shivamoga District of Karnataka state. Created by Sharavathi River falling from a height of 253 meters (829 ft), Jog Falls is one of the major attractions in Karnataka tourism. Magod falls and unchali falls also are unbeatable.

Pooja's second text post: Bangalore' India

Firstly, I want to apologize as I m not following my proposed topic as per the weekly episodes. I have chosen the topic “Bangalore ‘India”. I chose to do this because recently when I spoke to few localities about India they think that India looks like a village and the reason being, when ever India is shown on the screen, they show cows, fields, and countryside. It’s not their fault. Because you believe what you see. So I want to show one of the cities in India by name Bangalore because I come from that city. In my second blog I will show Bangalore city. The pictures and few video clips are what I have taken. Therefore I will be showing the surface not in detail.

pooja' s first text blog post

My first blog will be on Indian women attire, music, dance and marriage. India has been known to have wonderful dresses and costumes. Our huge Indian traditional clothes collection consists of mainly sarees, salwar kameez, lehenga. I will be showing few clips of all these three outfits. I am focusing only on women attire in my blog.

The music of India includes multiple varieties of folk, popular, pop, and classical music. India's classical music tradition, including Carnatic and Hindustani music, has a history spanning millennia and, developed over several eras. I will focus on a simple Indian music which will be a Hindi film songs because there is very little time to show all the music.

The main theme of my blog is to show the colors of India. I would mainly focus on Indian women, attire, music, cuisine, sightseeing, festivals, marriage….
