Christina's Vlog Episode 2
Hi everyone!
Here is my second vlog for the unit. It is largely a reponse to the comments and suggestions made by Tama and Peter last week. So hopefully you guys like it. Here I have interviewed a Fine Art Honours student and asked her about networking on the internet as an artist.
The video to investigates the idea that in any given room there are pathways, conversations and instances continually made and memory, these situations constantly loop and over lap one another. On vlogging forums (like youtube) there is an overwhelming sense of multiple narratives running simultaneously which users are only able to view a tiny slice. This video is a direct reflection of that, here the user is invited to perform the video and recognise that there are multiple pathways to view it as well as potentially missing out on imformation. Users are however given a chance to direct and (re)view the video with the refresh button on the bottom.
I still have reservations with this. To me is seems clunky, and while it is consistent with the themes of collage and multiple interfaces.. it is a little distracting. I've also learned that it isn't really possible to stay with this approach to vlogging because the more distracting a vlog is, the less personal and engaging it becomes.
Anyway, enjoy, and of course I welcome any feedback.
Thanks, Christina
