Liana's - episode 3: masterpiece or mess?

Thanks for not asking about my thesis - EPISODE 3

Masterpiece or Mess?

To take a break from my thesis this week, I have been using my sketchbook to create drawings and paintings. I think the hardest task when creating a painting or drawing, is coming up with a concept and/or idea of what you would like to sketch. I find drawing and painting a great outlet for expressing my creativity, and it is also very relaxing.

considerations:

While scrolling the Internet for some famous paintings, I found a website that does painting reproductions. Reproductions are different to reprints. A reproduction is when an artist reproduces a painting done by another artist. On the Ocean’s Bridge website, customers can pay an experienced artist to paint a work done by a renowned artist. It is cheaper than buying an original or a reprint. I am a bit unsure about copyright issues to do with art, but I assume you cannot copy a painting by another artist, and claim it as your own creation. According to an intellectual property website that I found, artistic works are protected by copyright for the life of the artist, plus 70 years after death. For more information on copyright and different types of work visit:

This is an area of interest that I am still not completely sure about, so if you do not agree with the information I have provided and/or have some useful websites, feel free to post a comment. Thanks!
