Vlogging with ACTNOW: Episode 3 Tash Writes a Letter to the Editor

Hi all. In my third vlog post I write a letter to the editor of the West Australian newspaper in regards to changes to Australian Citizenship laws, in particular forcing all new citizens to take an English test. Each week the West receives about 500 to 600 letters, not all get published and some are shortlisted for publication. Approximately 100 get published per week and some are also available to read online: http://www.thewest.com.au

I tried posting my vlog last week but it disappeared so I decided to update it with exciting news - not only did my letter to the editor get published (6/10/06), I also got some fiesty responses (10/10/06)! You got to love freedom of speech.

My argument is that not all new citizens should have to speak English (particularly the elderly however younger people would probably benefit the most by learning English) and we should be tolerant/understanding of those that don't speak English.

I will also scan the full version of my letter and the responses to this vlog...once I figure out how to resize the images.
