MySpace Generation Episode Four: A Networking Machine

MySpace: A Networking Machine

So we all know that MySpace is primarily a social networking website, but how does networking online work for local bands? Prior to the advent of MySpace it was difficult for a small band to keep in contact with a large fanbase, or to keep large record labels informed of a bands progress. Networking was a time consuming and potentially costly process.

The introduction of MySpace to the local Perth music scene has meant that small bands are able to build up a complex network of “friends”, whom they are able to contact simultaneously, within an instant. The following vlog looks at the advantages of networking online, that MySpace offers up and coming Perth bands.

Unfortunately the visual quality of some of the clips is a bit glitchy, but the audio comes through ok. Hope it's not to painful to watch!
